regulations the same as driving on the road laws of ‘ well that will do ’?
I was ejected from the taxi at the door of this building , having gone through security gates and people checking to make sure you have authority to go through the gates .
Let me point out about security , in my opinion .
There is security just about everywhere , from scanners at the entrance of every hotel I experienced , every entrance to office buildings and I even saw a gate , like you see at an airport you walk through to check you have nothing metal on you . This ‘ gate ’ was in the middle of nowhere , in front of a shopping complex , with no fences either side , just this ‘ security gate ’. People were not even taking any notice of it and just walking into the shopping area , it was nuts .
Having been left at the entrance door of this office block I walked in to see a reception desk and a young girl that smiled at me . I had better ask the girl on reception , I thought , using my universal Indian ( point and talk as if you are a fecking robot ) where I needed to go , and she just pointed towards the lift . I got in and proceeded up to the floor I was told the office was on .
Exiting the lift , on the floor I was told , I discovered a sign on the wall saying where the office was … I had arrived .
Now , consider this , the only communication I had prior to this moment in time was a couple of emails , a Skype call from a chap called Sarthak , a message on LinkedIn , along with the taxi driver at the airport , plus a few people at the hotel and that was it .
In a country , 7,200 kilometres from home , and just about to walk through a door thinking I must have been absolutely insane .
I do recall thinking to myself , standing outside this office door , I must be mad and wondering if my kidnappers would be nice and hoping the knife they will cut my throat with would be sharp !
Oh well here goes , it has been a reasonable life , I pushed the door open and … KL
