replaced by human Aussie angels of the road .
A new episode was coming ... we could now continue our travels . Two Enfields , one eighteen years old and the other eighteen months old rode onto the comfortable , modern ferry to Tasmania .
On arrival we immediately caught a rather less luxurious cattle ferry to Flinders Island , one of the Furneaux group . ( Well , I had to , didn ’ t I !) We rode off the old tub at midnight . My headlight didn ’ t work . I thought at first that the smell of cattle and diesel fumes had addled my brain but following a short ride to our prebooked motel at Lady Barron and a good night ’ s sleep , it didn ’ t work the following morning either .
During our stay on Flinders Island , there were no other bike problems . It was a remote and very special place to be for ten days . After all that had occurred it was wonderful to have nothing to do but camp by beautiful
