good memories .” Keith is quick to point out that despite it ’ s age and lack of modern technology the bike is a joy to ride , and it is . The steering is heavy at low speeds , you become accustomed to that . The brakes , drums of course , decide when they want to slow the road speed , sometimes they stop too well , sometimes a little less so .
“ It all makes the ride a bit more exciting ,” Keith laughs . “ It ’ s a classic and if you treat it as such it will reward you .”
There ’ s something about airheads , their unique look , the sound , the style . This old R60 is a head turner , the black , the chrome , they add to the appeal , but it goes deeper than that , those that look know exactly what they ’ re looking at . And can appreciate it .
A street credibility comes from the bike being all original , yes , it does have new parts fitted however , they are all original BMW . Oh , an enlarged sump has been fitted , it doesn ’ t detract from the look and enhances performance .
Keith seems to be in love with this machine , speaking in hushed tones of the great engineering , performance , and great riding position , but it ’ s the originally which seems to warm him most .
“ Although it ’ s old it ’ s hard to find fault with the bike ,” there ’ s certainly some sort of love affair going on here . “ I love everything about it .”
Would he ever sell it , well , “ perhaps one day ”. Isn ’ t there a saying that , when you name something it makes
it hard to get rid of it ? Yes , it does have a name …
