certainly one of the most popular amongst moto travellers . But how good can a lightweight chair actually be ?
Coming in at around half a kilogram in weight , it ' s not light compared to some chairs , but let ' s face it , it ' s not much more than a can of baked beans or even beer , and yet despite its lightweight design it ' s said to be able to hold 120kg ... it certainly holds this reviewers 105kg .
No doubt , there are other products on the market that are more comfortable , yet they aren ' t as light or packed as small as the Helinox Zero chair . This chair is wonderfully comfortable and stands out as one of the most comfortable around . Don ' t be mistaken , you can ' t put your feet up , it won ' t hold a drink , and the backrest is low but for a similar price it ' s much better than sitting on a three-legged stool promoted by an ADV bike aftermarket products manufacturer . The great thing with the Helinox Zero is that it cups your bum and in doing so provides great support for your lower back , keeping it straight in a position that works . We ' ve found the Zero to be comfortable for all body shapes and sizes , including the taller and heavier amongst us .
Construction is an exceedingly high standard , ripstop nylon constitutes the base of the chair while the frame is an aircraft grade aluminium , corners that hold the frame are reinforced while all fittings and connections are high grade moulded plastic .
The Helinox Zero chair is quite stable when sat in , not the best but stable enough to provide confidence it won ' t fall or collapse . The feet do sink into soft ground , a problem easily overcome .
Setting up the chair is a little tricky the first time used but becomes easier the more times you undertake it . Packing it can be a little more
