Riding into the park , we had the impression of falling right into a pit with boiling water . Everything around us gurgled and steamed . This feeling accompanied us for just two days , unfortunately we had to move on further .
Sturgis , associated only with the place where the oldest motorcycle rally is organised , is a small town situated in the beautiful surroundings of the Black Hills Mountains , filled with routes as if dedicated to motorcyclists ! The neighbourhood of Mount Rushmore , Crusher State Park or Crazy Horse Monument ( with Polish heritage ) undoubtedly makes this place more attractive !
After Sturgis , the ride back began , maybe not the shortest route , but still ! We were halfway through the time we had and had to get back to Florida to meet our return home to Poland .
There is 1400 km from Sturgis to Milwaukee - another iconic H-D site that we couldn ' t miss : the Harley Davidson Museum ! Then to Chicago , back on Route 66 to St . Louis and then a decision had to be made … through Nashville or Memphis ?
As we , are closer to Rock ' n ' Roll than Country , there could only be one choice ... once again , by some strange coincidence , we came to Memphis on the day of the 40th anniversary of Elvis ' death ! It ' s understandable that we couldn ' t skip a visit to Graceland .
Time was running - the plane would not wait ... but so much on the way ... Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg , Smokey Mountains , Savanah , Daytona Beach - admittedly this is not the time of the rally , but the Daytona Speedway operates all year round ! Then Boynton Beach ! We did it ! G & EZ
