The GSA is a more than a capable bike , especially in the right hands , I ’ m perhaps being quite generous of my own abilities . Like all bikes of this nature it ’ s a compromise , you won ’ t win a MotoGP with it and you certainly won ’ t win a Dakar , but if it ’ s a motorcycle , it ’ s an ‘ adventure bike ’.
This bike has caused tears , it ’ s brought on the occasional uncontrollable bout of swearing and cursing , but most of all it has made me laugh , to stare in wonder , to explore and discover . If I ’ m going to do something stupid , it ’ ll generally be on this bike , grinning like a fool , enjoying life .
There ’ s no name , there ’ s no need , “ F ’ it !” probably comes closest and that is indeed a term of endearment . “ F ’ it , let ’ s take on that track ”, “ F ’ it , why did we do that ”, “ F ’ it , that was fun ”.
F ’ it , yes , it ’ s as ugly as sin , but what a bike , and what a hell of a lot of fun … LW
