shrug and motioned me on . I smiled goodbye and ventured on into the void , a woman appeared in the distance . Was she one of the sisters or another Insider ?
More than half of the Insiders are female , perhaps telling of their self-confidence around nakedness more than the men . This lady in the distance was an Insider , standing tall yet leaning forward , her breasts heavy and long looked like soldering irons of old . Was this Alana , Jill , or Lorraine ? I couldn ’ t determine , the circle around her suggested a warning . Do not come closer . I was now the one staring , trying to understand the coldness . What was her story ?
Over her shoulder stood one of the Sisters , another well into the distance . They were here , adding to the mystique of Lake Ballard . I was drawn , trying to understand the story and significance .
The people of the northern hemisphere looked to the night sky and named a small cluster of bright stars Pleiades , ancient Greek , in reference to the importance to sailors . Some in the north called the stars the seven sisters .
Although half a world away , numerous Aboriginal peoples , of differing traditions , also knew the stars as the seven sisters , none more so than here amongst the salt .
Whilst dancing across the night sky the sisters discovered a lake , reflections of the night sky bounced back , the beauty drew the sisters down for a greater look . They played upon the waters , running , dancing , laughing . A man approached and began threatening the sisters , wanting the youngest sister for himself . The girls ran , trying to hide and escape this man . Their story forever embraced within the shores of the lake .
Seven islands scatter the white surface , I looked back toward camp and realised that the large conical
