There ’ s little doubt that motorcycle specific jeans are either loved or hated and it was with some scepticism that we came across the Robby by Pando Moto . What we discovered was a standout product , that will shake up the market if not already .
The Pando Moto range look and feel just like traditional cotton denim however , there is one great difference , these jeans are not cotton , rather a blend of Cordura ®, Coolmax ® and cotton . Cordura ® is a fabric engineered with a blend that includes military grade INVISTA T420 nylon 6.6 staple fibre essentially meaning a fabric strength that is 5 times stronger than cotton and retains the strength after washing whilst cotton reduces dramatically after washing .
We haven ’ t tested the abrasion resistance of the Pando Moto jeans however , both Cordura ® and Pando Moto state that the Robby jean passes all tests using the Darmstadt method . Added to this is the fact that the jeans come with knee protectors that are CE approved PPE under EN 17092 , they ’ re rated AA meaning protection against an impact of 70km / h .
Riding in the Robby jean by Pando Moto is a pleasure , these jeans while slim fit have a stretch ability meaning exceptional comfort in all riding styles and positions , we tested on both an adventure bike , as well as a cruiser style bike . The jean was wonderfully comfortable in both , in fact we ’ d say these are close , if not the most comfortable jean we ’ ve come across .
Despite the Cordura ® material , that can often be bulky and thick , the Pando Moto jeans are light and free moving , don ’ t get us wrong , they are thicker than regular jeans but not so that they are uncomfortable . On a day in the mid-30 degrees these jeans breathed well and were comfortable and , in the cold , offered a level of warmth unlike many others . Whilst riding the Australian bush on a hot , humid day the Pando Moto Robby performed exceptionally well in both a seated and standing position , the flexibility was enough that we were able to move around comfortably on the bike .

The fit is amongst the best ; slim leg and mid-waist provide a comfortable yet practical fit , the wearer will think they are wearing nothing more than fashion jeans .
