live and give their lives for the pure love for our country and loyalty towards it . No amount of praise , respect , wealth , or words can do justice to the supreme sacrifice that these brave jawans gave for our country . We realised that our jawans were truly immortal and always held their love for motherland superior to heaven or worldly material things and pleasures .
Just a few kilometres away from the Magnetic Hill 3 is Gurudwara Sri Pathar Sahib , which has gained prominence and is said to have been built in the memory of Guru Nanak .
It is believed that sometime during the 15th century while returning to Punjab from Tibet , Guru Nanak Devji rested for a while in this location .
Local records suggest that there was a wicked demon who would trouble the people staying in the region , often killing , and then eating his victims . Terrified , the people prayed seeking help . Guru Nanak Devji settled on the banks on the river below the hill and blessed them with his grace . The locals called Guru Nanak Devji , ‘ Nanak Lama ’ and were quite happy to have his divine presence in the area .
Seeing this , the demon became furious and decided to kill Guru Nanak Devji by pushing a large rock down from the hilltop . The boulder tumbled down at great velocity and upon touching Guru Nanak Devji ’ s body came to a halt and turned to soft wax .
The demon was shocked to see Guru Nanak Devji alive . Kicking the boulder , he hoped to push Guru Nanak over the edge but instead his foot became embedded in the waxlike boulder .
In the 1970s , while construction of the Leh-Nimu road was undertaken , despite all efforts the holy boulder couldn ’ t be moved . Local Lamas informed the workers and soldiers about the history of the sacred rock and Guru Nanak Devji ’ s past incident .
