PORTRAIT : Chris Keeble ...

" Put Away The Ego "

Creative , out there and a little eccentric ! That ’ s how Chris Keeble describes herself . A 60 something grandmother , an Indian rider , a rider of rural roads .
Chris has been riding the better part of 40 years , starting on a small Suzuki , and working her way through a brace of large American bikes , the first a Harley Davidson 883 Sportster through to an Indian Vintage Chief she calls Calamity Jane . Listening to Chris it ’ s easy to follow the progression of bikes , none a perfect longdistance travelling bike yet all well suited to Chris ’ needs . “ I travel a lot in Australia ,” Chris points out . “ Certainly , the eastern side .” She ’ s also ridden the USA numerous times as well as the United Kingdom and New Zealand , even Japan .
“ There ’ s many more planned ,” she quips . “ I want to travel around Australia and be of no fixed address for a few years , and also ship my bike to the USA for a fourmonth ride .”
