Glen Davis Road is well maintained, with few potholes and plenty of roadside markers. Being the long weekend there were a few other vehicles however, courtesy and respect were evident. After about 26kms, with much of the bitumen stretch smooth and fast flowing, the road turns to gravel. Crossing the Capertee River, the road forks left and right; left takes one to Rylstone and Mudgee via Glen Alice, whilst the right fork takes one to Glen Davis. The road deteriorates a little after the turn off, with recent rain the road is a little chopped up in some places. As you wind your way down into the Capertee Valley and inch closer to Glen Davis, the view in no way deteriorates.
