nothing else; no crater just a massive cross shape crack where the earth has literally been split. It’s prehistor- ic and awe inspiring. The 450 square kilometre region is a feast for the eyes, at a macro level there is something new with every passing moment; dry arid domes leading into what seems to be rainforest, gorges deep with flowing creeks greening the land. “That’s new,” the pilot points out a dome that has had it’s top blasted apart. Another impact crater? “No, it’s a lightning strike.” Our pilot explained that this is normal but not one so large. It’s an- other impressive feature and one that demonstrates that nature is forever changing the land. It’s a different world from above, it’s a different world from in amongst.
