mass every year (3-5% per decade) unless we do some-
thing about it.”
Suzie explains that weakening muscles often leads
to greater issues much sooner in life, carry extra
weight adds to the problems. The changes subtle to
start with and often too late to make changes to get
back to a position where the simple things in life are
comfortable.
“Prevention is way better than cure!”
Suzie suggests a simple ten-minute workout each
day can make a massive difference. Bodyweight
based exercise or resistance bands (small, light and
easy to travel with) will go a long way, as will stretch-

“Just a couple of basic stretches … get into a rou-
tine.”
Overlander Health is a free resource, and while Su-
zie would like it to pay for itself, she is quick to point
out that Overlander Health is more about keeping
travellers healthy.
“Health is the most important commodity we have,”
Suzie says. “People often don’t place health at the
top of their priorities, however, ask anyone with real
health problems how important it is, and you will
soon realise its value.”
Suzie does say the important thing is to get out and
go travelling but stay healthy, it should be at the top of
your agenda.

landerhealth.com too, she’s always happy to get some
recommendations to add to the website, wherever they
are in the world.
The recommendations are not vetted by Overlander Health, they
can’t personally endorse the health care providers, it’s the re-
sponsibility of the traveller to research further from the informa-
tion provided by the website, to ensure that all needs are met. It’s
also wise to ask your insurance provider if they cover the costs of
using a health professional before you go ahead with consultations
or treatments.
