greater versatility to the point that some of these are also waterproof … and yes, they really are. There’s a reversable pocket for maps, bungy webbing and pockets for items that don’t need to be protected from the elements, all allowing for ease of access. On the back the Hurricane, at least the smaller of the two is comfortable to the point that once on you’d be hard pressed to even realise you’re wearing it. Plenty of padded straps keep the bag secure and with three-way adjustment it remains where you put it. For the rider that likes to drink while riding there’s even provisions for a hydration pack to be included (purchased separately). When not wearing the Hurricane, it comes with a quick release strap system that turns the pack quickly into a tailbag, providing greater versatility. There’s little to fault with the Hurricane however, ours did see one of the straps (and buckles) ripped from the bag without us even knowing how it happened. It occurred on the road, so was fixed with gaffer and fabric tape … as good as new … it does the job. Nelson Rigg do state that they offer a Lifetime Warranty, we never chased this up so can’t verify the process. In all, the Hurricane 20 litre is a perfect bag for bike travel; it’s small, comfortable, durable, versatile to the point that we use it for travel by bike as well as hiking off the bike and goes most places. The 20 litre Hurricane (L 32cm x W 12cm x H 58cm) retails for around AU$159.95 and the large version 40 litre (L 32cm x W 15cm x H 77cm) is $189.95, and for that they are some of the best value you will find.
