"NO PLANS ARE THE BEST PLANS"

ydney, it’s a long way from Milan; northern Italy
is a world away from the hustle and bustle of Aus-
tralia’s largest city, that is renowned for its iconic
buildings sitting shoreside of one of the world’s
most famous harbours. Yet, Paolo Cattaneo made
the move and within a few years he’d been bitten
by the travel bug.
“I wasn’t too much of a traveller in my early days,” ex-
plains Paolo. “Some of my family members were.”
Paolo continues to explain that his family were
travellers but nothing to the extent that he has taken on,
when the bug bit him it really sunk its teeth in.
“My life has always been orientated to work and ca-
reer,” Paolo continues with a level of sincerity that con-
vinces you he knows what he’s talking about. “With the
sole purpose of improving the quality of life, for myself
and my loved ones.”
He continues, “one day I realised that the quality of
life and the possibility to truly enjoy your time are not
determined by how much money you make or how many
things you can afford.”
Paolo came to a realisation that he would need some
time to think things through, he needed to explore his life
and what was needed to make it worth living. His plan
was to ride around his new home, Australia, a ride that
has many convinced they’ve travelled far. Paolo complet-
ed that, and never stopped … Round The World was next.
“I was kind of confused and lost,” he grins. “My life
was great, by ‘normal’ standards; I had a job that I loved,
a nice apartment by the beach, lots of friends and I was in
