F ollowing a long sleep to con- clude my big day, I woke up and moved to a family friends just outside of Queenstown for a few days where I really got to explore the area with some great guides. The first epic adventure in the area came with David Caeser from Par- adise Motorcycle Tours NZ. One of the many who messaged me after my gear was stolen in Napier, he expert- ly guided me out for a ride through Skippers Canyon. After a windy road up Coronet Peak skifield you curl your way onto Skippers Road; a narrow, winding, and exhilaratingly treacher- ous pathway that twists and turns for about 25 kilometres. A one lane dirt path dug into the side of the mountain during the gold rush days, Skippers Road hangs above the famous Shotover River for the ma- jority of its length before crossing the 120-year-old Skippers Bridge spanning the rock faced canyon before making TRAVERSE 29
