BOSCH ELECTRICS GROWING

erman tech company, Bosch, has announced that
its Two-Wheeler and Powersports unit continues
to gain momentum within the global motorcycle
market.
It's estimated 2018 sales will see a 20% growth
over 2017, more than double that of market levels.
The growth is generated by the assistance, powertrain,
electrification, and connectivity sectors.
Bosch believes the growth is due to 4% market growth
of motorcycle sales within the greater Asian market.
RIDE TO REMEMBER
If you're in Australia, in particular Victoria, during Feb-
ruary the 11th annual Ride To Remember is taking place.
Held to pay humage to the many police officers who
have fallen during the line of duty the Ride To Remember
is a group ride that visits some of the states most scenic
regions.
Held on Sunday, February 3, the ride departs from Ar-
arat and heads through the Grampians before returning

STREET LEGAL HONDA RALLY BIKE
Honda's long awaited street legal rally concept, the CR-
F450L Rally made it's debut at the EICMA show in Milan.
Based on the 2019 CRF the Rally version features many
upgrades that sees the standard bike being a true rally
contender however, 100% street legal.
Features of the bike are still sketchy however, as soon as
we hear more Traverse will let you know.
MORE FEMALES
Motorcycle ownership in the United States of America
is growing amongst female riders.
Female ownership has seen a growth of almost 10% in
the last ten years to see 19% of all American motorcycles
owned by women.
The figures are across all age groups while younger gen-
erations see even greater growth; 22% for Gen X and 26%
for Gen Y.
These figures seem to mirror what most western coun-
tries are experiencing, something that the overall motor-
cycling industry needs to consider as many more females
come to the market.
JAWA MAKING A COMEBACK
JAWA Motorcycles looks set to take on Royal Enfield in
the retro tourer market.
The once Czechoslovakia company is now owned by In-
dian enterprise and like Royal Enfield they are targeting a
market that is growing rapidly.
JAWA recently launched three 'new'models to the in-
ternational market with the aim of targeting the travelling
motorcyclist.
DUCATI TO CHANGE HANDS, AGAIN?
While discussing record sales figures during 2018 for
KTM, CEO Stefan Pierer has hinted that the Austrian brand
is considering making a play to purchase Ducati.
KTM wants to make a greater impact by being a leader
of sports bikes and see taking over Ducati as the only real
option.
It's an interesting development as KTM are already al-
most 48% owned by Indian company Bajaj who openly ad-
mit they want KTM to buy Triumph. Pierer says this isn't
an option as he has emotional ties to Ducati.
