to sleep. The house was beautiful with
a huge garden where the two dogs frol-
icked and to my surprise, the mother
allowed them to enter the living room
where they settled peacefully on the
beautiful white leather sofas.
The next morning, an espresso cof-
fee awaited me at the breakfast table
with warm croissants. Renzo came
down and said goodbye, leaving for
work. Giovanni and I started a tour
of motorbike workshops of friends
to see who could do the repairs to La
Más, then we decided to take her to
Ferrara, to BMW, where the chief me-
chanic is my friend Alberto.
So we did that. We left it with the
dealer and then we went to the country
house of Stienta, where its residents
Veronica and Marco were absent, but
I have the key so we could unload the
luggage of La Más. I said goodbye to
Giovanni, a young man of twenty-sev-
en, a motorcycle racer who saved my
life. Today we are great friends. I’m
so grateful for the wonderful gesture
he had for me, as well as his parents. I
have been invited to Croatia to taste its
wines and olive oils, and I promised to
go.
The surprise was even greater
when I arrived at BMW in Ferrara; a
new Metzeler Tourance front tyre for
La Más with a note that said:
"It's your birthday present, Mac ..."
