HELITE was founded in 2002 by Gérard Thevenot, a French pioneer in the light
aircraft industry. His thirst for inventions and safety awareness pushed him into
developing an airbag system in the light aircraft sector. This rapidly led to under-
standing the crucial needs for more security in all types of applications, including
motorcycling.
The motorcycling airbag systems from HELITE are 100% mechanical to avoid un-
expected airbag activation and therefore eliminate the need to use and replace bat-
teries. Once the rider attaches the lanyard directly to the motorcycle the system is
activated. You don’t need special tools or technical knowledge to install the lanyard
on the motorcycle. In the event of an accident, a CO2 cartridge deploys the airbag
within 100 milliseconds, faster than the blink of an eye.
The airbag absorbs impacts and stabilizes the whole upper body from head to tail-
bone. After an inflation the system can be reused within 2 minutes. The rider only
needs to replace the cartridge. This makes the use as simple as possible. The airbags
are CE certified by the external laboratory CRITT Sport, the French specialist for objectively testing Personal Protec-
tive Equipment (PPE).
Design, development and manufacture of the airbag systems is conducted by HELITE in Dijon, France. Every sin-
gle airbag and trigger system is carefully tested and quality controlled.
HELITE airbags come in varying forms to account for every application, including vented, touring and leather
jackets and vests. As well as these suited to motorcycle travel, there’s a number of options that allow the rider to wear
a HELITE airbag system over their existing jacket. All HELITE airbag systems come with ‘Turtle Technology’ that
protects the riders back in a fall. All of the HELITE airbag jackets are designed to suit both male and female riders
in varying styles.
HELITE airbags are CE certified and guaranteed for 2 years with maintenance and customer service. HELITE
airbag systems are perfect for all riding styles and applications, you can find more information at www.helite.com
