Huaraz was a perfect place to visit
some mind-blowing places like Lake
Paron, the Llanganuco Lakes with an
amazing mud pass leading down to it,
Canon del Pato, Chacas and so much
more. See video HERE) Luckily, we
did manage to get to see all these won-
derful places however, on our return
to Huaraz my bike had other plans for
us.
As we edged closer it started, the
dreaded tapping noise again, and I
took it straight to a recommended me-
chanic, Helber. Bottom line: new oil
pump required. Yikes! We managed
to source the part from our friends
at MotoHell in Quito (Ecuador), but it
would take a couple of weeks to make
the journey, avoiding crazy flight-re-
lated customs issues. So be it. We met
a local rider Jael, and he showed us
some amazing miradors (view points)
in Huaraz, and we also got to meet a
now good overlanding friend Kirsi,
