Roads are fully paved; many people live in beautiful modern stone houses and the amount of traffic is nothing compared to riding through towns and cities in India. It may be the country of scooters, but in contrast, never in our life did we see so many accidents! Somehow people tend to randomly topple over while riding. The situations causing these strange events vary widely. Sometimes the person just falls in the middle of the road due to texting and driving, some- times the person decides to drive straight into a lamppost or sometimes they are the only ones on the road, but decide to go directly for the walkway with the common result of losing con- trol and crashing. And then we only mention the people strangely falling over, not the people crashing into each other. Up unti now, we don't know how this is possible, is it just a coincidence that we saw all this or is there some driving improvement required? Any- how, this doesn't take away the beauty TRAVERSE 94 this country has to offer. Karst mountains up north, an end- less coastline and traditional rice fields. Wherever we went the bikes were a good conversation start- er. Compared to many bikes riding around ours were huge. With huge I really mean, high from the ground. Especially when women see another woman riding it they cannot hide their admiration. When offered to sit on the bike the first reaction always was 'no', but even- tually they climbed into the saddle
