The quarters are new and situated at the visitors centre which, itself is at the venue of the old home- stead offering a look at more recent human history. This itself is worth a look. The comfortable lodgings have air-conditioning, communal kitchen, toilets, showers and BBQ’s. It’s central and convenient yet perhaps not the real outback experience. Costs are around AU$60 per room, per day. Just outside of the National Park, around 3km from the visitor’s centre, TRAVERSE 63 there’s Mungo Lodge. Not affiliated with the National Park, Mungo Lodge offers accommodation and an expe- rience a little more luxurious.
