MW’s iconic GS range of motorcycles have
long been established as one of the leaders
in adventure riding, adventure travel and
exploration. The past five years has seen
BMW Motorrad hold an event that not only
showcases the extreme abilities of their
bikes but also that of the people who ride them.
The sixth edition of the BMW Motorrad International
GS Trophy was held in the central Asian country of Mon-
golia, pitting both bike and rider against what this tunning
country has to offer.
One hundred and fourteen competitors from 18 coun-
tries and in 21 teams took part in the 2018 edition of the GS
Trophy, with a second all female team and two new teams
from Australia and India competing for the first time.
“We’re looking forward to pitting ourselves against oth-
er GS riders from around the world and seeing how we
stand,” explained Michael Haley of Team Australia prior
to the event in Ulaanbaatar.
“There’ll be the competition but also the friendships
and I’m sure there’s a whole atmosphere to the event. It’s
not just one thing, it´s all these things that will make it
such an unforgettable experience.”
“We’re really looking forward to Mongolia. It’s good to
be competitive but we should realize that we are already
at a place where millions are craving to be,” agreed Win-
son Lee (Team India).
“Just by being selected for the GS Trophy makes us
