GOODBYE TO A LEGEND U ral Motorcycles has announced that 2018 is the last year of production for their iconic M70 outfit. The M70 is based on the 1940's M72 which became a legend within the World War II Soviet military. Since then over 3 million Ural sidecars have been produced. The Ural M70 will be available through 2018 with cus- tom colors and all accessory options available. Ural deal- ers will have full access to all M70 parts and warranty items guaranteed through 2028. As Ural says goodbye to the M70 they are in the process of developing many new machines that will keep the tra- dition alive. CONTI SCORES HIGHEST IN INDEPENDANT TESTS The RoadAttack 3 by Continental has come out on top of the independant tests done by respected German tyre retailer, Mopedreifen. Up against the Bridgestone T31, Metzeler Roadtec 01 and Michelin Road 5 in the sport-touring catergory the Conti produced rubber came out on top in four of the six areas tested. All tyres were tested on similar BMW S1000XR bikes under the same conditions. The RoadAttach 03's scored highest in; confidence, dry grip, stability and feedback and came second to the Bridgestone's for stability with a pillion amd second to the Metzeler's for comfort. Continental also produce a 'GT' version of the tyre for heavier bikes. VALE IVANO BEGGIO, FOUNDER OF APRILLIA Founder of Aprillia motorcycles, Ivan Beggio passed away mid-March at the age of 73. Beggio started in his fathers Aprillia bicycle factory and through innovation turned the business into one of manu- facturing motorcycles. In 1975 the company produced racing machines and quickly won motocross championships in Italy and fur- ther afield. During the mid-1980's Beggio took the Aprillia name to World Championship Grand Prix racing and quick dom- inated the 250cc class with riders such as; Max Biaggi, Marco Simoncelli, Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner and Mar- co Melandri.
