It’s the national dress of Scotland,” exclaimed the
bloke wearing a skirt while explaining the signif-
icance of the ‘Standing Stones’. We were in the
New South Wales town of Glen Innes. It seemed
like the perfect attire, a kilt, for what was to be-
come a weekend of hilarity, adventure and Ural
motorcycle outfits.
The kilted man was a committee member from the
‘Standing Stones’ a series of large rocks placed to com-
memorate the contribution made by all Celtic peoples
on the Australian culture. Created over 25 years ago the
‘stones’ are an impressive sight and the perfect place to
start our ride.
