“ It’s the national dress of Scotland,” exclaimed the bloke wearing a skirt while explaining the signif- icance of the ‘Standing Stones’. We were in the New South Wales town of Glen Innes. It seemed like the perfect attire, a kilt, for what was to be- come a weekend of hilarity, adventure and Ural motorcycle outfits. The kilted man was a committee member from the ‘Standing Stones’ a series of large rocks placed to com- memorate the contribution made by all Celtic peoples on the Australian culture.
