We, at Traverse, were so impressed with the concept of
the Water-to-Go filtration system, we couldn't wait to get
our hands on one.
Given two bottles to test we set out and did just that.
Check out YouTube, you'll find plenty of extreme tests,
some quite repulsive, yet very impressive examples of test-
ing. We didn't go that far, we did dip our Go into various
natural water sources, examples of what might be need-
ed while out on the road; roadside puddles, floodwaters,
creeks, even the infamous upside-down Yarra River in
Melbourne, Australia. The results were very impressive.
Testing has shown that the Water-to-Go purification sys-
tem, developed for NASA, filters 99.9% of all water born
diseases, bacteria and chemicals, providing a safe hydra-
tion source and all within the bottle. The London School
of Hygene & Tropical Medicine is one of many indepen-
dant testing facilities that's shown the Water-to-Go prod-
uct to be the best around.
The Water-to-Go is a perfect part of any kit if you plan
travelling to areas where reliable and safe water sources
aren't always available. Take a couple of these with you
and you'll have safe water to drink with you for quite some
time, no matter where you are.
TRAVERSE
The bottles are made from BPA free plastic, meaning
safe to use with food or fluids. The filters do have a lifes-
pan however, the Go has a built in timestrip so you can
keep an eye on how long you have left. The 50cl size will
last for two months, or 130 litres, once activated while the
75cl will last three months or 200 litres.
Compare the cost of a Water-to-Go 75cl bottle and filter
system (approx. AU$45.00) with 200 litres of bottled water
and you'll already save at least half your money. It's an
even greater saving to the environment.
You need not worry about replacing the entire bottle
once the filter has expired, replacement filters can be pur-
chased for as little as AU$14.00.
So, how did our tests go?
In all instances we found that the water, drunk straight
from the Water-to-Go bottle was as good as most tap or
bottled waters. It didn't taste the same as either however,
it also didn't taste foul or dirty. In most cases the water
was perfectly clear and tasted as such.
We''d recommend a Water-to-Go for anyone who is
travelling ... any sort of travelling!
