ing in the surroundings brought a calming peace. In stark contrast we were shown artefacts from the Vietnam War. Most of which were decommissioned bombs giving us a completely differ- ent perspective. We were brought back to earth, discovering what a lot of these people went through. A lot of the bigger bombs were used like monuments in the little towns. As we rode in many of these quiet- er little towns, it was eye opening to see that many locals bared the scars of war as well as the landscape. Older locals had limbs lost. Some of them were unable to walk and required wheelchairs. Others were disfigured beyond belief. They were able to get about using a simple, yet ingenious method.
