GEAR Huge! First impressions last and that’s the impression you get when first sighting the DryTide Waterproof backpack … Huge! At 50 litres this is certainly a large mid-sized backpack yet, unlike so many others it is 100% waterproof and despite the size is perfect for the motorcycle traveller. On a recent ride in the Australian bush we had the chance to fully test the DryTide and it held up well carrying a full set of camping gear; tent, mattress, sleeping bag and small pillow. More could’ve possibly been squeezed in. No. We didn’t ride with it on our back, opting to strap the DryTide bag to the back of the bike, acting the same as any regular roll bag. The beauty of the DryTide is that it also has two additional waterproof pockets; one large enough to store additional necessities for camping and the other handing for storing spare gloves or the like. This is a versatile backpack. On a second ride we used the DryTide to transport a full set of riding gear; adventure riding jacket and pants with lining and all armour included, full length boots, gloves plus additional clothing and towel. There was room for more. The DryTide could possibly have even fit R a full-face helmet making it perfect for anyone heading overseas to ride and preferring to take their own gear whilst travelling light. This is a very versatile backpack. Is it really waterproof? Yes, 100%. While riding we were faced with heavy rain, not one drop making its way inside the back. Like any waterproof rollbag the DryTide bag has similar roll and clip opening atop the bag however, here’s the difference, a further waterproof flap covers the opening for added protection. Constructed from heavy duty materials and high frequency welded seems where required, DryTide are confident that the backpack can be submerged in water although, don’t guarantee that it will stay waterproof for long periods. In the rain it is perfect. Along with the two additional external pockets the DryTide backpack also includes two side mesh pockets for storing water bottles or other items. Straps further up the bag allow for longer items to be stored in the pockets. Yep, this backpack is versatile. We found the backpack to be one of the most comfortable on the market thanks to the padded E TRAVERSE 102 V
