Ecolodge

Picture a resort made in the traditional fashion and you get Terres D'Amanar. This “Eco” resort was our home for one full day and two nights. It was designed out of mud and clay but was very nice. We had a mini apartment with three rooms, two bathrooms and a great porch. One room belonged to me and Charlie, one belonged to my parents, and one to the girls and Aidan. Each room had traditional art and VERY nice beds. The one bad thing was that the shower was freezing. On our first day we ordered some mint tea (all the Moroccans seem to drink) and sat and chatted. We went down to the pool which was quite nice and all but unfortunately was not heated and was freezing jut like the shower. We then went to the playground. It was like no playground you'll ever be in. It was huge, with paths and nets criss crossing it like cobwebs. There was a mini zip line. We had an amazing diner that night. Beef and Chicken Tajins and Moroccan soup. We had assorted cookies for dessert as well as, predictably, mint tea. The next morning, we woke up and went to a hilltop breakfast out in the open, ver far away from any restaurant I could see. We had multiple French pastries and orange juice (they make great orange juice in Morocco) and finally declined 15ths on cake. We then went to check out activities. My heart had been jumping up and down not very comfortably for the past couple of days because one of the most acclaimed things about our little mountain resort in the middle of nowhere is it's Zip Line. We got passes for the Accro Park for the whole family. It wasn't their biggest zip park but after you were done with it, you felt like earned your lunch because, instead of being just a ride over a canyon, very everyday I'm sure, it was king of like an obstacle course in the trees. There were some zip lines, but also some crazy things like a net hanging in midair that you had to climb across, or a rope that you had to swing on like Tarzan. It got progressively harder as you went along and, unfortunately as I had started to really enjoy them, less zip lines. I think I did one too many courses that day because I disliked the last course (there were 5 all together) with all my heart. Don't get me wrong though, I had so much fun tat day. The next day, we drove back to Marrakech in the dark because we were getting on a tour bus to drive out to the Sahara desert!
