The First Night

Thank god for the fact that all of our bags actually arrived at the airport in Copenhagen Denmark. We had no way to get from the busteling airport to our tiny airport hotel. We decided to set up our bikes in the airport (first image on the page 1). It took us all night. We got in at 5:30 pm but that didn't stop it from getting dark by the time we left the airport. We met this nice man who took our picture with our bikes outside the airport on our first night and another nice man who told us that he knew a reporter who would love to put our story in a Danish newspaper (Unfortunatelly, that never ended up happening) and we finally left. They bike so much in Denmark, it's crazy. This far into our trip, I'm surprised when I remember that they don't bike that much in the U.S.A! So, my dad went to a 7:11 while we waited outside the terminal and came out holding the most expensive gas station merchendise ever! We then tested our bikes for the first time as we rode on the side of the freeway to our hotel. Boy, was it a late night!

Exploring Copenhagen

The next morning, we got up just in time for breakfast. We had been up late the night before and so we had to set an alarm. Our hotel had great breakfast, although the food was rather odd. For instance, would you think it was wierd if I told you that, because of that hotel, I now njoy swiss cheese with my jam and bagels! It's true, and frankly, quite good. But, enough babbling about the food. After breakfast, we got on our bikes and rode into the city. We went to this creepy place called Christiania where Danish people have given law a huge middle finger and anounced that the were a "Free City" Unfortunattely, the fact that it was free meant that people didn't have to obey anti Marijuana laws. The smoke was everywhere and we left quickly, picking up some gross icecream on the way. Later that, day, we went to the Dansih history museum which had a killer kids area with a model pirate ship and tons of world culture models. We also got a picture with the royal guards at the queen's palace. We got there right at the changing of the guard and we were in their midst when they started to change poitions.
