This kind of tourism seems only to be
popular in Western countries; however,
you can find some places in Laos to try
it. One of them is Don Khone.
The phrase “unplugged travel” came
to me when I attended a Tourist
Communication class guided by the
PR Director of the Tourism Promotion
Board of Franche-Comtä, France.
As the bushiest area of greenery in
France, it’s no surprise that FrancheComtä was the initial region from
which this new trend spread.
WHEN THE VIRTUAL WORLD
IS UNPLUGGED TEMPORALLY
Enthusiasts for this new tourism trend
include businessmen in particular,
and those who work under a great
deal pressure account for the majority
number. These tourists always carry
modern technological devices and are
surrounded with tones of worries and
stress in the workplace.
On arrival to the destination, you are
required to switch off your devices
or give them to your guides. Without
the Internet and mobile connection,
only you and the beauty of nature are
left. The ideal place for this kind of
tourism is in a deep forest where all
of your activities will take place in a
wooden house perched on a tree.
