Text and photos: Thai Hang travel Exploring Vancouver is more like dating a girl than wandering through a city. This bustling Canadian seaport is so beautiful that all I can do is contemplate the magnificent natural scenes and urbane charm. Located in mainland British Columbia, this coastal city is home to roughly 603,000 people from around the world, creating an ethnically and linguistically diverse city. March to June is the best time to visit and welcome spring’s countless colors with lush green trees, fresh pink cherry blossoms, yellow sunlight and the blue sea contributing their beauty to the cityscape. 3 layers of clothes and a thin blanket were enough to keep me warm to start my journey. From YVR airport, I took the subway to Waterfront Station, which is only 200m from the seaport and Canada Place Square. I still remember the moment when I became mesmerized by the scenery. The blue-sky blends at the horizon with the deep blue of the sea speckled with white sails while the sunlight illuminates the tranquil beauty of the land. “Fly over Canada” From Canada Place, I took the Sea Bus ferry around the harbor. The ferry runs every 15 minutes and it’s a wonderful way to view the seaport, a must-see during your trip to Vancouver. I arrived in Vancouver on a fresh morning before the sunlight has been able to warm up the air. The chill didn’t matter though. ©Max Lindenthaler TRAVELLIVE 121
