Being the location of hundreds of
ancient temples, Kerala is considered
“the Land of God". Kerala boasts
a rich biodiversity. Situated along
Malabar beach, it is home to more
than 4,000 flowering plant species,
900 of which are medicinal, over
100 species of mammals, 475 species
of birds, 200 species of freshwater
fish, and 165 species of reptiles.
The craggy hills combined with
pristine rivers, majestic temples, and
enchanting beaches attract more and
more tourists to Kerala every year.
What could be better than staying in
a wooden bungalow overlooking the
sea, tasting fresh seafood with curry
and delicious appams - an Indian
signature cake made of rice and
coconut?
Nature lovers should try to climb
the Agasthyakoodam Mountains
in the Sahyadri range of Western
Ghat. These mountains will not only
enchant those excited by birds and
wild animals but also flower lovers.
You can also visit the town of Munnar
on the mountain slopes overlooking
endless tea plantations surrounded by
graphite mountains. This is an ideal
choice for your honeymoon. Another
must-visit destination in Kerala are
the Athirapally waterfalls. Located
within a lush tropical forest, this
waterfall flows down from a height of
40m. If you have a chance, stay at the
floating Kettuvallam hotel, the design
of which is inspired by the shape of a
traditional Indian houseboat. Indeed,
Kerala is the perfect getaway for those
who seek tranquility.
