The cafä is designed like a house
that the owners are still living in.
The kitchen is radiant with the
glimmering of so much metal
cookware. In the living space, there
are still traces of breadcrumbs on
the edge of the table, as if someone
had bought bread from the bakery
in such a hurry that she left them
on the table when heading back
home the night before. And tonight
there will be jackets and hats
hanging on the clothesline!
In this cafä-like house, every nook
and cranny has been utilized
to serve guests. You can crawl
into the bathtub with a cup of
hot chocolate or cover up in the
bed among a plethora of dolls of
different sizes with a book and
a cup of tea. In the next room,
a group of excited students is
discussing their preparations for
an up-coming presentation. One
of them is relaxing on the bed,
another lazily on a chair, while the
other is thumbing through a book.
They seem to make themselves at
home as if they really were at one of
their own homes. Though we are all
strangers here, everyone can find a
little space to call their own while
here.
The most interesting aspect of
Le Pavillon des Canaux is that it
is constantly changing its form
regardless of the room and its
traditional function. The bathroom,
which you had once used to enjoy
a cup of hot chocolate, has now
transformed into a small hair
salon. The courtyard between the
house and the canal has become
the space for an outdoor Yoga class.
Le Pavillon des Canaux gives you
countless reasons to come back
again and again. If you like the
brand, Love & Dress, come to the
kitchen. Near the Christmas tree
is the new collection. The cafä also
offers some courses. If you want
to take up a new course that few
people know about, then Culinary
Stylist would be an exciting
choice. Or if you would like to stay
here overnight to do something
like work on your final thesis,
come here and you will find your
companions.
Sometimes, you don't need a
reason for coming here. As for me,
I just visit this pavilion from time
to time to reminisce about the time
I stepped into Elise's world. As for
Elise, Paris is her entire world.
