Marco Polo's life was extremly unique, and what he left behind left a major impact on society. Most importantly, his book, The Travels of Marco Polo, was one of the most widespread and popular books in Europe, as he was the first person to ever leave a record of his travels to China.
His book spread his knowledge of his travels throughout Europe, and gave Europeans more knowledge about Asia and also Europe and Japan as well. He opened up Europe to what was beyond.
His book also infulenced the knowledge of cartography in Europe, by people using the maps he made to serve as a base of part of a map. The Fra Mauro map was infulenced by the map he made.
Marco Polo also infulenced another great adventurer that would come later, years after him. His picture is above, and his name is Christopher Colombus. He would bring onboard with him a copy of Marco's
book, along with his maps. He also made notes off the book as well. Due to this, Christopher Colombus was infulenced enough to reach the Far East himself.
Marco Polo is remembered as the person who brought knowledge of the Far East to Europe, and as a famed explorer.
