ITINERARY No Passport? No Problem The application process to receive a U.S. Passport takes upwards of 45 days. Which means you’ll need to plan accordingly if you need a passport for your summer travels. If you’re like some people and realize too late that you need one, you’ll be happy that it’s not too late. Yes, there are companies that make a good living off procrastinators like you. So yes, it is possible to wait until the last minute and still get a passport. The catch is that you’re going to pay for it. Depending upon your schedule you’ll be able to get a U.S. Passport as fast as 24 hours, according to one website we located (passportsandvisas. com). The cost is $249, plus the nor- mal government fees ($170). Throw in overnight delivery and you’re looking at close to $450. If you don’t need it overnight you can find fees ranging from $49 for 11-15 days to $299 for 2-3 day service. And for those who don’t put things off you can apply through the State Department (uspassportonline.com) and pay a lot less. Peter Lloyd 18 www.travelinganglermagazine.com
