Each spring, the Virginia Arts Festival presents unforget-
table performances throughout beautiful, historic Coastal
Virginia. Here are just a few reasons to plan your Festival

Mark your calendar for the Bernstein Celebration—three
brilliant concerts in three cities, April 13, 14 and May 12,
each celebrating the genius of the great American com-
poser and conductor Leonard Bernstein. You’ll hear
thrilling performances of his greatest works for the concert
hall and Broadway ( West Side Story , Candide , On the
Town and more), performed by Broadway stars, great clas-
sical music soloists, and the Virginia Symphony Orchestra.
Funhouse Fest is the place to be in June. This two-day

writer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Bruce Hornsby,

A signature event of the Virginia Arts Festival each year is the
Virginia International Tattoo, an awe-inspiring spectacle fea-
turing hundreds of performers from 8 nations. The largest dis-
play of music and might in the United States, the Tattoo offers
an astounding display of military bands, majestic massed
pipes and drums, show stopping drill team maneuvers, col-
orful and elegant dancers, and much more. Four perform-
ances, April 26-29 in Norfolk’s Scope Arena—with free
