West Memphis is a city of 28,000 in the heart of Arkansas's Delta Re-
gion. The first settlers of the area were Native American mound
builders who inhabited eastern Arkansas prior to the arrival of early Eu-
ropean explorers such as Spanish explorer Hernando Desoto. Later,
the lumber industry played a pivotal role in the development of the city. Be sure to browse the area's shopping mall, gift shops, and
specialty shops before sitting down to some Southern hospi-
tality in one of the city's great restaurants. You will find a cui-

around.
The countryside surrounding the West Memphis area offers a
beautiful outdoor setting with excellent fishing, hunting and other
