The 101 Lost Kittens Project aims to raise social awareness towards stray animals. My favourite mural is The Boy on a Bike, idly watching the traffic go past by on the Armenian Street. It is surreal. commissioned artwork Mirrors Georgetown draws a huge crowd. Among his most famous works, Little Children on a Bicycle painted on the walls of a shophouse on Armenian Street and Reaching Up on Cannon Street are exemplary. Wanida Razali, a born-and-bred Penangnite, tells me that these murals are a catalyst to development of abandoned areas. She points me towards artists like Rone, who drew inspiration from the locals of Georgetown for his artwork, she being one of them.The 101 Lost Kittens project that aims to raise social awareness towards stray animals can be found all over old town.The Brother and Sister on a Swing by Louis Gan, on the walls of a printing press on Step-by-Step Lane is a treat to watch. However, my favourite The Boy on a Bike, idly watching the traffic go past by on the Armenian Street, is surreal. The nearby artwork of a child taking a pet dinosaur for a walk is fading fast. The subtlety of using environment friendly paints makes the artwork transitional and will eventually fade over time. 50  Travel Secrets September-October 2015
