Tom And Jerry A variant of Eggnog, Tom and Jerry is a classic Christmas cocktail popular in the Midwest, devised by British journalist Pierce Egan in the 1820s. It is flavoured by dark rum and, usually, Cognac (other brandy can be used). Changing tastes left this venerable holiday drink behind, but pockets of devotees still remain. Today this drink is enjoying a bit of a renaissance, as lovers of classic cocktails try their hand at mixing a bowl. It may seem unfamiliar to contemporary palates; no worry, Tom & Jerry has a way of making friends real fast. Source: www.chowstatic.com 72  Travel Secrets November-December 2015
