TASTENOTES

The beach is all about
light-hearted fun. Who
says the only time to
enjoy it is during the
day, under the sun? Try a romantic
moonlight picnic instead, with the
soothing sound of waves washing
ashore. And what could set the
mood for such an evening better
than Debonair? What’s that, you
may ask. For this cocktail, carry
a bottle of the iconic Cutty Sark
Scotch Whisky, orange juice, and
lemon. Mix, and enjoy! And then, let
your spirits soar.

Does adventure runs
in your veins? Whisk
your lover away for a
high-octane expedition.
You may want the dare of a heartstopping bungee jump, snorkeling
among coral reefs, or hike through
a national park. Nothing stokes
adventure like a signature Vesper
Martini, ‘shaken not stirred.’ To
make it, you need Gordon’s dry gin,
a bottle of Grey Goose vodka, Lilet
Blanc wine, and lemon peel. Pour
the gin, vodka and Lillet Blanc into
a cocktail shaker half-filled with
cracked ice. Shake well, and strain
into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish
with a twist of lemon, and serve, for
a touch of sophistication amidst the
jagged outdoors.
5.
And finally, if just one
destination isn’t enough,
what could be better
than a romantic cruise?
Enjoy your very own Titanic
moment with your lover under a
star-spangled night sky.
Feel and breathe the ocean with
a Cayote Margarita. Tequila, triple
sec, sweet-sour bar mix, some
pineapple juice, a hint of lemon
juice and some salt to rim the glass
are the ingredients of this great
mix. Whizz them in a blender till
frothy. Rub the rim of a glass with
lemon peel, and dip the moistened
rim in salt. Pour yourselves a glass
each, lose yourself in the richness
of your deck-side romance, and
raise a toast to love!
