hat inspired you to take on Kilimanjaro?
Amit Hardi: The need to know what you are
physically and mentally capable of. Moreover,
high altitude trekking is an addiction, you always
want more. You will be surprised to know that most people can
do it, provided they put their mind and heart into it.
People talk of the risks involved, but honestly, I am at a
bigger risk driving on Delhi roads! It’s just a thought barrier; an
excuse for not treading uncharted territory.
By climbing the summit, we got into the Seven Summits*
club: now we want to do as many of the seven mighty ones.
* The Seven Summits: the highest mountains on seven continents.
Mount Kilimanjaro, Denali, Elbrus, Aconcagua, Carstensz Pyramid,
Vinson & Everest.
