Positano, Italy
Who can resist being enchanted by this colour palette descending
into the Tyrrhenian Sea; green, white, yellow, pink, grey and blue...
No wonder even the ancient Romans loved Positano, and built lavish
villas here—you can see the ruins near the Church dell’Assunta. In
modern times, a bevy of intellectuals, artists and celebrities have
lavished their love on this little beauty; John Steinbeck, Pablo
Picasso and Liz Taylor, among others. Besides the slope and the sea,
there are urban hotels, fashionable boutiques and chic restaurants
serving delicious seafood, pizzas and gelato galore. The three islets
of Li Galli are rumoured to be the home of the Sirens who seduced
sailors nearby. Maybe it’s their song that lures people here.
