In Rama and Ravana in battle, the author uses a biased tone toward Rama. He does mention that Ravana was evil and mighty, but he does not favor him. The whole story is the battle, and the author uses diction to Rama’s favor.

His description of Rama is where I will start. When describing Ravana, the author describes him as The Demon King. When describing Rama however, the author uses more detail to introduce him. The quote, “No, Rama was no ordinary human being. Rama was none other than the avatar of the god Vishnu, and …” (Buck) Proves my point. He uses word like” no other than” and “no ordinary human”. This shows that Rama was held in high regard. Throughout the story every attack that Ravana threw at Rama seemed to do nothing. However, almost every arrow Rama slung at Ravana pierced him, leading to Ravana’s death. For every attack Ravana had, Rama had a counter attack. The author had high regard for Rama, but he did not have a negative regard for Ravana.

An obvious proof is the fact that Rama won the battle. If Ravana was the one who was in favor, He would’ve one the battle.
