Lopes Mendes (RJ)

Next to Mangaratiba (RJ), Ilha Grande is traditional destination for tourists. It’s a real paradise. To escape from the crowd of Abraão, the island’s downtown, Lopes Mendes beach is ideal. To get there, it’s necessary to go through a 6km trail or pay for a boat trip. But it’s worth it, the beach is surrounded by almond trees and has 3km of fine white sand. It has rough sea, suitable for surfing, so this is the sport most practiced there. It’s a beach of shallow sea, and the transparency of the water is impressive, as well as its variation of shades.

Boipeba (BA)

Boipeba’s island it’s located in the city of Cairu, south coast of Bahia. It’s a beautiful beach that is hidden in the country. The only way to get there is through a long boat ride and, therefore, renting a house in the island is advisable. The island is full of nature, preserved vegetation and displays a crystalline sea. It has natural pools on high sea and on the seashore, with diversities of small fish and coral reefs. It is a quiet place, walking barefoot, visiting the fisher’s village, enjoying the sunset on Boca da Barra beach is one of the pleasures that Boipeba provides.

Galinhos (RN)

This is a destination that doesn’t have the infrastructure of the great travel itineraries. Galinhos is a paradisiacal beach in Rio Grande do Norte, 160km from Natal. To reach the place, only after a boat trip and walking or using a 4x4 vehicle through the dunes. The tourist who can get to Galinhos is welcomed by friendly and warm people.

The magic of Galinhos is in simplicity. The extensive beach doesn’t have gigantic multicolored cliffs, sophisticated inns or fancy restaurants. But it is quiet, semi-deserted scenery and natural pools of warm waters in Ponta do Farol, perfect place to enjoy the sunset. Rent a horse, the only means of transportation available, and go there to dive and relax.

Maracajaú (RN)

This is another destination in Rio Grande do Norte that haven’t been much explored by tourists. It’s located in the city of Maxaranguape. The blue ocean and the beauty of the beaches make some tourists call it Brazilian’s Caribbean. It’s famous for the coral barrier, that is popularly called Parrachos, at 7km from the coast, it’s suitable for the practice of recreational diving (snorkeling). During low tide, the site has natural pools of crystal clear water. Maracajaú is a beautiful place to do good walks on the white sand and take relaxing baths at the sea.

Praia do Riacho Doce (ES)

This beach is located on the border of the states of Bahia and Espírito Santo, but it belongs to the city of Conceição da Barra, in Espírito Santo. The beach is surrounded by dunes, that can reach 30m in high and 5km of extension. It’s considered a World Heritage Site, because the dunes hide an old village, that was buried between the 1950s and 1970s. The only way to access the beach is by ground road. There is a stream of dark waters and coral formations.
