Fiji's Environment

Biodiversity: The variety of living creatures (animals, plants) living in a particular environment.

As Fiji is a tropical country, its biodiversity should be high. There are huge varieties of species in the reefs, including soft and hard corals, reef fish, pelagic fish, eels, octopus, snakes, squid, turtles and whales. In the rainforests you can find animals from flying fox to the crested iguana which are native to Fiji.

A good environment needs to have high biodiversity, like Fiji does. Could ecotourism be destroying this? Below are some ways which cause the quantity of coral reefs in Fiji to decrease in the next few years.
