During our trip we drove to a small town called Ronda. This town is one of the oldest towns in the country of Spain. In this town are many landmarks; El Tajo, Puente Nuevo and Plaza De Toros. This little town has many amazing views, I have shown some below. El Tajo is another word for the legendary “Gorge”. This is a huge cliff that looks as if someone took a knife and cut the top of a small mountain (shown below). This rock formation was made by erosion from the rio Guadalevin. The Gorge is around 120 meters deep and 68 meters wide. The Puente Nuevo is not quite as incredible, but it is still a very beautiful statute of Ronda. This bridge was made in the 1700’s and was a way to connect La Ciudad to El Mercadillo, the other part of the town. This bridge was made to fast and not built for the amount of weight it needed to hold. It collapsed in 1741 and killed 50 people. It was then rebuilt soon after and still stands today. One of the last things we did in Ronda was taking a walkthrough tour of Plaza de Toros. This is the oldest bullring in Spain, it was built in 1785.
The one city in Spain that I believe everyone should go to is Madrid. This city is jaw dropping to me. My family went to Madrid during this trip and went to a lot of historical sites. The first one was the Prado, or museum of Madrid, our second stop was the Puerto del Sol, third was Plaza Mayor and the last was the Palacio Real de Madrid. All of these places are a must see.
That concludes my excellent trip to Spain. Without a doubt this was my favorite trip I have ever been on, especially with all of the historical background that Spain has. Ronda alone holds some of the best views my eyes have ever seen, and is the most historical place I have ever been too. Madrid is the most interesting city I have been in, and holds a lot of historical events as well as places (a lot like Ronda). España es impresionante.
