I just want to say - you are the best and I hope this magazine is everything you want it to be and more. Ewa Kowalczyk : Photographer of front cover. “I am a nomad, travelling from place to place, taking photos, learning from people about their lives and mak- ing life happen day by day. Sometimes it’s an adventure, sometimes a slow walk through the unknown crowd. It’s either myself only or me and my boyfriend, looking for new faces and new experiences. We try to keep of the beaten path and look beyond the tourist guides.” Travel is an important element of modern life, exploring new places and experi- encing new cultures is something we all dream of. Plus with budget airlines and websites like Airbnb it’s never been more financially viable. But with every new experience and place comes the potential to meet new people from different walks of life. In fact, it’s one of the most important parts of travel. No matter where you go from Tokyo to New York, from Bahrain to Tanzania the locals are the ones who make each trip unforgettable. The people are the ones who will create those memories that stay with you for the rest of your life, and make you dream of re- turning once again. That’s why I created Travel Antics, to pay homage to all those amazing people around the world who make our adventures unforgettable. Creating the Travel Antics magazine has not been an easy process. During the eight months I have been planning, editing and generally harassing talented pho- tographers and writers, things took a turn for the worst. I lost my Grandma (a woman who helped raise me from a child) and I lost my job a few months after that. It has truly been a gruelling experience, but I still believe in Travel Antics. It’s the place to explore the world through the people we meet along the way and to inspire you to go out into the world and meet some of these people.
