Path to Courage Manual If every parent is affected by divorce it seems to reason that every child is as well. The question that parents must ask themselves is how their own child has been affected. Parents need to work together at that point to address how their child’s needs will be met. Children need to learn the skills necessary to transition from the life they had during their parent’s marriage to the life they will have after their parent’s divorce. Young children need to learn to become resilient so they can meet their changing environment. Little things like walking into a new bedroom at night may be a big hurdle for a young child. Resiliency is defined in the Oxford dictionary as the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties. Kids First Parent Second’s path to courage empowers kids to ask questions and approach problems.
