Transforming Today’s World
proudly presents London
England’s premier blues artist:
T
TW is proud to be the first American International arts
and entertainment magazine presenting Indie artists
from around the world! An artist LIVES to perform and
TTW is here to offer the “break” that could launch these
artists into super-stardom! As our premier European
artist, TTW introduces Best UK Blues Album Award Winner: BEX
MARSHALL OF LONDON ENGLAND! Two-time winner of Best
Female Vocalist in the UK, Bex Marshall pushes the boundaries of
blues combining the grit of a woman’s heartache and the passion of
Southern Rock Soul. A brilliant writer of distinction and notability,
Bex has been referred to as “timeless and a genius!” Whether she is
performing solo or with her 7 piece band, she is nothing short of a
musical tornado! Born in Devonshire and now residing in London,
Bex is the product of two very diverse families: One side blue-blooded
landed gentry and the other Irish Romany. Music was always an
integral part of Bex’s life. As a young child, Bex would watch her uncle
play the guitar, then she’d be lifted onto the table to sing. At 11 she was
gifted a 1963 Gibson Hummingbird by her Uncle David, and the rest
is history! She got hooked on instrumentals and classic guitar standards
which stretched her fingers, and gave her a great basis for her own
music to develop. She played Flamenco, Ragtime, Country Chicken
Pickin’ Rock- eventually seguing into the heart of the blues, where she
finally found her musical home. Bex is a musical adventuress.
Described in The World Press as a comparison to Memphis Minnie,
Joan Armatrading, JJ Cale, Derek Trucks and “Bonnie Raitt jamming
in an everglade moonshine joint,” Bex is The UK’s undisputed blues
star! She completed a very successful summer US tour (2013) and
a three-week tour of Brazil while planning a huge European tour in
2014. She has also been asked to guest star as “Janis” in the next tour
of Big Brother and the Holding Company.
Her first record release, “Bootlace” from 2002, broke her into the UK
market and propelled her into the limelight in both the European and
UK touring market. The powerhouse voice, guitar and songwriter kept
wowing audiences as they jumped to their
feet, enthralled with her magnetic sound! Her
second album “Kitchen Table” was released
in 2008 on her own record label, House of
Mercy. “Kitchen Table” manifested extensive
touring in Australia, the UK and Europe,
pushing Bex to number 13 in the USA and
UK’s artist’s charts, and number 20 in the
USANationalAmerican MusicAssociation
charts (AMA 2008). Her current
album “House of Mercy” has received
stunning reviews world- wide since its
September 2012 release in the USA.
Bex has recorded for Paul Jones and
Bob Harris on BBC radio shows, as
well as hundreds of concerts and
three albums. Her single, “The House
of Mercy,” won blues single of the
year on Severn FM (UK), and the
track “Love” was nominated in the
British Blues Song of the Year Awards.
Bex is now sponsored by both Ozark
Guitars and the legendary guitar maker
Chris Eccleshall who has built guitars for
Clapton, Gallager and Bowie- just to name a few! Bex now plays the
“Electric Lady Guitar” an Ozark 3515E’ Electro Acoustic Bullet and
has the music reviews to show for it!
Uncut Magazine UK: “She does down and dirty blues, evokes
Janis Joplin, goes acoustic for the tender, and contributes slide and
knopfleresque runs. Marshall’s powerhouse persona dominates
winningly!”
Rock N Reel (R2) UK: “British Blues at its best!”
Blues and Soul.com: “There is a spiritual tone in her voice that lifts
songs from the good to the great, injecting a bit of her blues sparkle
into her veins!”
Downbeat Magazine US: “The Blues ‘Black Guitar’ culminates in a
slide guitar clamour Derek Trucks would be pleased to call his own!”
Folk and Roots Magazine UK: “A younger version of Bonnie Raitt.
Seldom do we hear such blues infected rawness in female guitar
players. It’s so refreshing to hear it done with such authenticity and
assurance.”
Outlaw Magazine US: “Then there’s her voice! Tina Turner, Janis
Joplin, Joan Armatrading, Beth Hart and Bonnie Raitt! Bex Marshall’s
voice draws up the ghosts of old women’s heartaches!”
Root of Rock Magazine: “The absolute stand-out of this album is
Marshall’s vocals.”
Wow- wow and wow! TTW proudly salutes our first UK Indie artist, and
will be watching closely as her career races towards the ultimate fame.
But after the fame, awards and audience accolades have faded, Bex
Marshall will ultimately be remembered for her amazing talent. The little
girl with the giant voice has left her mark on the world and our hearts. Her
voice has graced some of the greatest stages in the world and her records
continue to bless us in ways that cannot be explained with simple words.
Keep those pipes blowin’, Bex Marshall! Thank you for being TTW’s
premier European artist! The US will be watchin’ you girl, and can’t wait
to have you performing in the states again!
